Pete Davidson Cancels Second Season Of Peacock Comedy ‘Bupkis’

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pete Davidson (The Suicide Squad, The King of Staten Island) has called it quits on the second season of the Peacock series Bupkis. In regards to his departure from the semi-autobiographical comedy series, Davidson released a statement expressing his gratitude

In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter Davidson said, “I’ve always seen Bupkis as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family. After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media, I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, Bupkis is by far what I’m most proud of. I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live) and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television, and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I’m very excited for this next chapter and for you guys to see the work. Thank you to all who support me for I am forever grateful.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, sources have told them that Davidson’s agent emailed the streamer earlier this week notifying them of Davidson’s leave. Although Peacock was emailed, Broadway Video, who was scheduled to shoot at the beginning of summer was not notified. This is after Davidson decided to shoot in New York, which had Universal TV and Michaels’ Broadway Video move everything to the state.

Bupkis follows the life of comedian Pete Davidson after moving back home to Staten Island. In the series, he struggles to deal with unfortunate family news all while trying to maintain his career and relationships. The series was straight to series order in April 2022. Peacock renewed the series for a second season back in June 2023.

Bupkis is available to stream on Peacock.
