The cauldron has been spilled. According to Entertainment Weekly, Patti LuPone (American Horror Story, The School for Good and Evil) revealed some important information about the WandaVision spinoff Agatha: Coven of Chaos. LuPone appeared on The View on Tuesday and disclosed to the audience several unannounced character details about her character in the Marvel series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, LuPone shared that she had been cast as Lilia Calderu, a 450-year-old Sicilian witch. She went on to describe that her character has powers like divination and tarot. LuPone also said, “I didn’t know there were witches in the Marvel world. So, we are a coven of witches.”
LuPone then revealed character details about her co-stars saying, “The witches are: Kathryn Hahn (Transparent, Bad Moms), Aubrey Plaza (White Lotus, Spin Me Round), and familiar – if anybody knows Heartstopper – is Joe Locke (Heartstopper).” This is the most information revealed about the characters from the show since Marvel has kept most details under wraps.
The actress also gave an update about the show’s release date. When asked about it, she revealed that filming hadn’t finished but that she believes the show is likely to debut in 2024. Other sources say the show might debut in late 2023 but Marvel hasn’t made an official announcement.
Other cast members of the show include Ali Ahn (Raising Dion, Next), Maria Dizzia (The Good Nurse, The Staircase), Sasheer Zamata (Home Economics, Woke), Debra Jo Rupp (That ‘70s Show, The Ranch), and Emma Caulfield Ford (Once Upon a Time, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Most of the roles have remained undisclosed except the actresses like Hahn, Caulfield, and Jo Rupp that are reprising their roles from WandaVision where they played Agatha Harkness, Dottie, and Mrs. Hart respectively.
The latest rumors say that actress Isabelle Fuhrman (The Hunger Games, Orphan) has joined the cast of Marvel’s Agatha: Coven of Chaos in an undisclosed role. Marvel hasn’t confirmed or denied the rumors of the casting of Fuhrman.
The details regarding most of the cast members’ characters are being kept mostly under wraps but there are rumors that Locke and Plaza will be playing villains in the show while Ahn and Dizza are rumored to be playing witches.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to premiere in the Winter of 2023. All episodes of WandaVision are available to watch on Disney+.
