The star from ABC’s Brothers & Sisters will play a healthy matriarch in the pilot titled Identity.
The CW and CBS Television had finally found the actress to play Liana Grant (Patricia Wettig) , the matriarch of the wealthy family in the drama project from Fox. The story follows Mia (Ahna O’Reilly). a young woman who need a transplant and who discovers that she is related to a powerful family. Their son (Matt Barr) is the only hope for Mia to get an organ donor.
Everything gets complicated when CIA approaches her to investigate the family’s involvement in domestic terrorism and when they try to infiltrate their rarefied world. Mia’s loyalty and morality are tested and she slowly has to build a case against the family who saved her life.
Patricia Wettig, who received three Emmys and Golden Globe awards for her role in ABC’s ‘80 drama, Thirtysomething. She recently starred on Brothers & Sisters from ABC and she joins Identity alongside Stephen Hagen, Mehcad Brooks and Manish Dayal, as noted by The Wrap.
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci will produce the show with CBS TV Studios, while Heather Kadin, Rob Golenberg and Alon Aranya will be the executive producers. Corinne Brinkerhoff will write and also exec. produce the drama.
