‘Only Murders in the Building’ Ups the Star Power: Melissa McCarthy Joins Season Four

A new face will be joining the trio of Steve Martin (The Pink Panther), Martin Short (Treasure Planet), and Selena Gomez (The Dead Don’t Die) on the acclaimed Hulu series Only Murders in the Building. According to Comicbook, the teaser of the upcoming season as revealed that Melissa McCarthy (The Heat), will join previously announced names like Eugene Levy (American Pie), Eva Longoria (John Wick), Molly Shannon (Hotel Transylvania), Kumail Nanjiani (Ghostbusters:Frozen Empire),  Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), and Meryl Streep (Into the Woods).

According to a previous mxdwn post, the main mystery for the upcoming season will be the sudden death of Sazz played by Jane Lynch (Role Model), who was shot in the finale of the third season. The new season takes the amateur sleuths to Los Angeles, where they’ll navigate the glitz and glam of Hollywood while facing a new murder within their circle.

The teaser gives a brief glimpse into the mystery the trio will solve as well as the new lineup of characters that they will be interacting with. While McCarthy’s role in the mystery series is still unknown,  her comedic timing and undeniable charisma promise to add another layer of fun to the show’s already winning formula. Furthermore, the addition of McCarthy is sure to upped the ante of the renowned series.

With a captivating mystery, hilarious banter, and a cast that could rival an awards show,  Only Murders in the Building season four is shaping up to be its most star-studded and entertaining season yet. The approaching season is set to release on August 29, and while fans are waiting for further information, the other three seasons are available to stream on Hulu.This show will surely be filled with numerous plot twists, which will leave the audience on the edge of their seat, and pondering the question, whodunit.
