‘One Piece’ Season Two Gets Playful With “First Look” Reveal

According to Screenrant, Netflix released an April Fool’s Day video focusing on One Piece. In the video, Jacob Gibson (add works in parentheses) answered fans’ questions about the second season and revealed that it will consist of 50 episodes. The video ends with the show’s creator, Matt Owens (The Defenders), stopping Gibson from revealing too much and showing the “first look” with a cartoon sketch of a dinosaur and Usopp.

The “first look” turns out to be a cartoon sketch of Luffy facing off against a dinosaur. This playful tease hints at Little Garden, a significant location in the Grand Line from the original One Piece manga and anime. While the video’s map doesn’t definitively confirm Little Garden’s inclusion, it has certainly sparked excitement among One Piece fans. The next season will display on how the production team will bring the anime to life.

According to Screenrant, the inclusion of the Little Garden may cause fans to wonder how other arcs will be adapted, such as the story arc of The Reverse Mountain. In the original animated One Piece, The Reverse Mountain only took two episodes, which means that it could be combined into just one episode of the live-action.

While most of the information of the second season remains under wraps, fans can stream the entire first season on Netflix.

One Piece season one received mixed reviews, with some praising its faithfulness to the source material and others criticizing its pacing. The new video suggests that season two may be more willing to take creative liberties while still honoring the spirit of Eiichiro Oda’s (One Piece:Red) beloved manga.

The finale of the live action One Piece has left fans wanting more and awaiting further announcement on the next season. The show follows Luffy played by Iñaki Godoy (The Imperfects) and his crew exploring the world, fighting villains, and achieving their dreams. The other members of the live adaptation consists of Emily Rudd (Fear Street) as Nami,
Mackenyu (Over Drive) as Zoro, Jacob Gibson (The Resident) as Usopp, and
Taz Skylar (Gassed Up) as Sanji.
