Nominees for the 74th Golden Globes Announced, ‘American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson’ and ‘This Is Us’ Lead

On Monday, Dec. 12, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 74th Golden Globe Awards, which will be broadcast on NBC on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017. Jimmy Fallon will be the host for this year’s telecast.

The People vs. O.J. Simpson and This Is Us scored the most nominations of any show, with Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz up for Lead Actress for This Is Us. The nominations for The People vs. O.J. Simpson were very similar to the Emmy nominations and wins, though Cuba Gooding, Jr. wasn’t nominated for his portrayal of O.J. Simpson.

In fact, a lot of the nominations were what a lot of people thought would be nominated. Winona Ryder is up for Stranger Things and the show itself is up for Best Television Series – Drama.

Outlander also got a little more love from HFPA, as Caitriona Balfe was nominated this year, scoring the only nomination for the show.
