Nickelodeon Renews ‘Instant Mom’ for a Second Season

 Nickelodeon has renewed Instant Mom for a second season in addition to ordering more episodes for the first season.


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tia Mowry-Hardrict’s Instant Mom will have a second season.

The cable network also ordered six more episodes for the multicamera comedy so that the first season has a total number of 26 episodes.

The show is about a party girl named Stephanie (Mowry-Hardrict), who marries an older man, Charlie (Michael Boatman) with three kids. Stephanie has to accommodate to her role as a stepmother while she is trying to maintain a small part of her independent life.

Russell Hicks, the president of content development and productions at Nickelodeon said, “In just a couple months since its debut, Instant Mom has resonated remarkably well with the Nick at Nite and NickMom audiences. We’re thrilled to witness its early success alongside See Dad Run and families enthusiastic about Tia and an undeniably charismatic cast,” Hicks added, according to THR.

Sheryl Lee Ralph co-stars in the show as Stephanie’s mother and the three kids are played by Sydney Park, Tylen Williams and Damarr Calhoun. Warren Bell and Jessica Butler are the creators of the series. Aaron Kaplan and Howard Gould are the executive producers.

Instant Mom airs right now in NickMom and Nick at Nite, which is a programming block including comedies like Friends, See Dad Run and My Wife & Kids.
