Tina Fey is returning to TV with a new, yet to be named comedy.
The pilot, which follows a young woman who reconnects with her father and finds a new home on Fire Island, is the first project for Fey’s production company since she signed a new deal with Universal Television in the fall of 2012. Under the new agreement, Fey will executive produce, create and possibly star in new projects, according to Huffington Post.
“She’s been a cornerstone of the network for over the past 10 years and there was just no way we were going to let her get away,” Robert Greenblatt, NBC Entertainment chairman, said of Fey in 2012. “It’s a measure of our esteem for her as a writer, actress and producer — she’s in a class by herself.”
Fey will be busy in the upcoming season. Besides the new comedy, she is working on Mean Girls stage musical with her husband, Jeff Richmond.
