New ‘The Walking Dead’ Promo Points Toward Rick’s Group Reuniting, Rebelling

Season 7 of The Walking Dead is coming to a close and things are starting to heat up like molten metal on a Walker. As fans have learned more about looming mega-boss Negan’s system of government, and favored characters find themselves thrust into darker situations, the final two episodes of the season have a lot of plot lines to bring together. Luckily, for those who continue to believe in Rick’s group, it looks like the gang may be back together again by the look of this promo for next week’s episode.

The cast’s separation has been a serious thorn in the side of long time viewers of the series this season, and seeing these beloved characters reunite into some semblance of the unstoppable juggernaut fans know and love is a major beacon of hope. As the series progresses toward what is bound to end in All Out War (Volume 20 for all the comic fans out there) fans are chomping at the bit to see a unified front take on Negan and his Saviors’ heavyhanded system of supremacy.

Though previous seasons have shown us just how heartbreaking such conflicts can be, the Season 7 premiere’s death count has Rick and his fans out for revenge. This isn’t to say that all roads are leading to a happy ending at this edition’s pinnacle. However, Andrew Lincoln has told The Daily Mail that this season’s finale will be “an incredibly satisfying ending…” and adding “’There’s a palpable sense of energy and excitement in that final episode.” For viewers who have expected the return of the more feral, go getting Grimes patriarch his cavalier foray into a carnival rife with zombie slaughter might only be the beginning. With his old crew back in full force, it seems Negan is the one who could be begging for a deal.
