New Photos For ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’ Reveal Young Lady Danbury

Popular streaming site Netflix has released a new photo for the upcoming Bridgerton limited series prequel Queen Charlotte. The image marks the first appearance of Young Lady Agatha Danbury, played by rising actress Arsema Thomas who is known for her role as Rebecca in Redeeming Love. The new photo of Thomas as Lady Danbury can be seen here.

The still is reportedly from the sixth episode of the Emmy-award-winning show: “Under the thumb of a much older husband, Agatha uses Charlotte’s arrival to find her own way into society. With keen knowledge of the once divided social scene and the intricacies of marriage, Agatha becomes a guiding light for the new Queen, all while finding her own voice and power we’ll soon recognize as Bridgerton’s iconic Lady Danbury,” says Deadline.

Queen Charlotte is a spinoff of the popular drama romance Bridgerton, which is based on several historical romance novels by Julia Quinn. Quinn will also be co-writing new book for the spinoff alongside showrunner Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal). Per Netflix, the series is about “eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family [who] look for love and happiness in London high society.” In the original series, Adjoa Andoh (Invictus, Fractured) portrays Lady Danbury.

According to DeadlineQueen Charlotte “will tell the story of how the young Queen’s marriage to King George sparked both a great love story and a societal shift, creating the world of the Ton inherited by the characters in Bridgerton.”

Rhimes is also a writer and executive producer on the project. Tom Verica (How to Get Away With Murder, American Dreams) and Betsy Beers (Grey’s Anatomy, Casanova) serve as executive producers and directors. Among the cast are Bridgerton stars Golda Rosheuvel (Lady Macbeth, Luther), Ruth Gemmell (Fever Pitch, Primeval), and Hugh Sachs (Libertine, Aristocrats), along with Connie Jenkins-Greig (The Takedown, Mr. Selfridge),  Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, Philomena), Sam Clemmett (Cherry, The War Below), Tunji Kasim (The Good Liar, Florence Foster Jenkins), and more.
