

According to a Warner Bros. Discovery press release, their original drama series Task will debut on Sunday, September 7 at 9.00pm ET/PT on HBO. The series will be available to stream on HBO Max, featuring seven episodes that will debut weekly.
From creator Brad Ingelsby (Echo Valley), Emmy nominee for Mare of Easttown, the story takes place in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia. An FBI agent, played by Mark Ruffalo (Avengers, 13 Going on 30), leads a Task Force to terminate a series of violent robberies led by trusting family man, played by Tom Pelphrey (Ozark, Iron Fist), the press release describes.
The cast is made up of Ruffalo, Pelphrey, Emilia Jones (Locke & Key, CODA), Sam Keeley (Kin, The Cured), Fabien Frankel (House of the Dragon, Venice at Dawn), Jamie McShane (Bloodline, Wednesday), Alison Oliver (Saltburn, Wuthering Heights), Thuso Mbedu (The Woman King, The Underground Railroad), Silvia Dionicio (Juvenile Delinquents, Two Cops in Trouble), Martha Plimpton (The Goonies, Raising Hope), Raúl Castillo (Smile 2, The Inspection), and Phoebe Fox (The Great, The Woman in Black: Angel of Death), via the press release.
Additional cast members include Maragarita Leveiva (Daredevil: Born Again, Spread), Dominic Colón (The Electric Company, On the Outs), and Owen Teague (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, It).
Task is written, created by, executive produced, and run by Ingelsby, WBD states. Sail Richardson-Whitfield (Eureka, I Am Legend) and Jeremiah Zagar (Hustle, We The Animals) will direct and executive produce. Other executive producers include Paul Lee (Mare of Easttown, Dickinson) and Mark Roybal (No Country for Old Men, Doubt) for wiip; David Crockett (Gone Baby Gone, A Cure for Wellness); Ruffalo; and Ron Schmidt (Apollo 18, Hellraiser: Deader). Furthermore, Jeremy Yaches (We The Animals, The Last Ice Merchant) and Nicole Jordan-Webber (A Star is Born, Under the Lights) will co-executive produce for Public Record.
