According to Deadline, CBS Network has picked up a new series, Cupertino, from creators Robert King (The Good Wife, The Good Fight) and Michelle King (Happy Face, Your Honor). This new legal drama premieres during the 2026-2027 season. Robert and Michelle King will also be the co-producers of Cupertino. The series order came shortly after CBS received the scripts from the writers.

Deadline describes the legal drama as a classic David and Goliath story, which will take place in Silicon Valley. The show follows a lawyer and former employee of a tech start-up company, played by Mike Colter (Marvel’s Luke Cage, Evil), who feels cheated out of his stock options. Colter soon joins another former employee, a recently fired attorney, and they soon represent others who were taken advantage of by the Silicon Valley tech company.

According to Deadline, Robert King started the show’s writers’ room after finishing directing an episode for this season of Elsbeth, another CBS crime drama he and Michelle created. The first scripts were delivered to CBS earlier this month. Cupertino will be joining yet another drama series that has already been picked up for the 2026-27 CBS season, Einstein, which stars Mathew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds, Band of Robbers).

CBS will produce this drama, Deadline reports, with Robert and Michelle King as lead writers, co-showrunners, and co-executive producers under their company, King Size Productions. Robert will also direct the first episode alongside Liz Glotzer (Castle Rock, And So It Goes), who will serve as the executive producer of the pilot.

Colter, who recently appeared at New York Comic Con, starred in the Kings’ Paramount+ series Evil for four seasons. The series found him playing priest who solved unexplainable incidents with a psychologist and a scientist. His presence at NYCC tempted fans who want to see his character, Luke Cage, have a proper return in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again.
