Netlix’s ‘Beef’ Sets Eyes On Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, Jake Gyllenhaal And Anne Hathaway To Star In Season Two

According to Deadline, Netflix is developing second season for their hit series Beef. A new season means new cast members joining the team as well as a new story plot. With creator Lee Sung Jin (Dave, Undone)  accepting the umpteenth award for the limited series at the Spirits Awards on Sunday, many series fans wonder what is next for the comedy drama.

Beef season one follows the story of two strangers who, after a road rage-filled accident, decide to be at each other’s necks with a feud that brings out their darkest side.

According to Deadline, the story for the second season will be a bit different compared to the first. The storyline will follow two feuding couples throughout the season. Possible cast for the first couple includes Charles Melton (Riverdale) and Cailee Spaeny (Bad Times at the El Royale): the other possibly includes Jake Gyllenhaal (Spider-Man: Far from Home) and Anne Hathaway (The Last Thing He Wanted) per The Dish. Currently, there have been no deals drawn up but a limited season’s worth of scripts were just turned in with the season being ready to start production.

Cast for season one of the series includes Steven Yeun (Nope) as Danny Cho, Ali Wong (Always Be My Maybe) as Amy Lau, Joseph Lee (Star Trek: Picard) as George Nakai, Young Mazino (The Last of Us) as Paul Cho, Remy Holt (The Afterparty) as June, Ashley Park (Only Murders in the Building) as Naomi, David Choe (The Choe Show) as Isaac Cho, Patti Yaasutake (Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth) as Fumi Nakai, Justin H. Min (The Umbrella Academy) as Edwin, and many others.

According to Deadline, Netflix and A24 can’t wait for the second season, especially with all the awards that season one has received. These awards include eight Primetime Emmys, one for Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology Series. Season two is expected to generate as much hype as the first.

Season one of Beef is available to stream on Netflix
