Netflix’s ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo To End With Season Five

Netflix has officially announced that season five of The Lincoln Lawyer will be the final season of the legal drama series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the final installment is currently underway in Los Angeles after Netflix renewed the series for a fifth season shortly before season four premiered earlier this year.

The Lincoln Lawyer is based on the novel series by Michael Connelly (Blood Work, Bosch: Legacy) and stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, Jurassic World: Rebirth) as defense attorney Mickey Haller. The final season will reportedly adapt “Resurrection Walk,” the seventh novel in Connelly’s book series, and will introduce Mickey’s previously unknown half-sister, Emi, played by Cobie Smulders (The Avengers, How I Met Your Mother). The character approaches Mickey for help freeing a woman she believes was wrongfully convicted.

The final season has also added several new cast members, including Amy Aquino (Working Girl, Picket Fences), Angela Trimbur (Search Party, The Final Girls), Elpidia Carrillo (Predator, Nine Lives), Nate Corddry (The Circle, The Ugly Truth), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Walk All Over Me), and Keir O’Donnell (Wedding Crashers, Paul Blart: Mall Cop). Returning cast members include Neve Campbell (Scream, Wild Things), Becki Newton (Ugly Betty, August Rush), Angus Sampson (Mad Max: Fury Road, Insidious), and Jazz Raycole (My Wife and Kids, The Quad).

Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife, The Code) and Dailyn Rodriguez (Ugly Betty, Queen of the South) released a statement saying the creative team always intended to properly conclude Mickey Haller’s story and promised audiences a satisfying ending for the character.

Season four of The Lincoln Lawyer remained a strong performer for Netflix, spending four weeks in the platform’s global top 10 for English-language television series and accumulating more than 26 million views during that period. In the United States, the series also spent five weeks among Nielsen’s top 10 original streaming programs.

A+E Studios produces the series. David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Practice) created the series for television, while Humphrey developed the adaptation and serves as co-showrunner alongside Rodriguez.
