Netflix’s Daredevil season three is now confirmed to have a 2018 release date. New seasons for all four of the Defenders are coming out this year. There was wonder about when the next Daredevil season would air. Many thought it would be in 2019 because the other three Defenders have and will go through their second season this year; however, this did not end up being the case.
Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said during the Netflix Q2 video, “In the short term, we’ve got new seasons coming up, in the second half of this year, of Orange is the New Black, Ozark, Iron Fist, Daredevil, Narcos, the finale of House of Cards, the follow-up series to Making a Murderer.”
With the confirmation that Daredevil will for sure be released by the end of 2018, now begins the speculation on when that released date will be. With Iron Fist season two being released in the fall, Daredevil might end up getting released during the winter. With the confirmed release of Daredevil this year, only The Punisher series being the only Netflix and Marvel show not to be released this year.
Late last month Netflix did release a short teaser trailer for Daredevil that did not reveal too much for what is to happen in the upcoming season. All that is in the clip is a subway station sign that says “Hell’s Kitchen” with some blood on the number three. This might be foreshadowing that the upcoming third season is going to be a bloody one.
