According to Comicbook, Disenchantment, one of Netflix’s fan-favorite animations, will continue its story in the comic. Creator Matt Groening who is also known for The Simpsons and Futurama is returning to comics with over 500 pages for Disenchantment. Groening will be publishing his next title with Titan Comics which will be providing him with an easier working relationship for his upcoming new major comic.
Titan’s announcement of Disenchantment: Untold Tales Vol. 1 stated, “Only the first two issues of these comics were previously released as a convention exclusive in 2019, and over 500 pages and 17 issues of original strips, featuring all-new stories, were left unpublished… until now. The first graphic novel in this exciting series also features exclusive content from the show’s creators.”
Disenchantment is set in a fictional medieval kingdom called Dreamland and follows the adventures of its rebellious and alcoholic princess Bean. Bean journeys through the world with her companions Luci, a demon, and Elfo an elf, over the course of four seasons. Season four aired in February of last year and the series has yet to reveal if an upcoming season is in the works.
According to Comicbook, the series has yet to be officially canceled by Netflix but it has been over year since their last season aired. The long-awaited renewal of the series has many fans fearing the worst, especially with Netflix’s recent cancellation of animated series such as Inside Job and Dead End: Paranormal Park which got canceled earlier this year.
All current seasons of Disenchantment are available on Netflix.
