The Furious Five and Shrek are coming to Netflix!
Entertainment Weekly has announced that Netflix and Dreamworks have created a multi-year agreement. Netflix says the deal is its biggest deal ever for original first-run content and includes more than 300 hours of new programming.
Netflix has recently been producing its own shows. These shows are available for streaming exclusively on Netflix. The first Netflix produced show was House of Cards, and it was followed by shows such as Hemlock Grove, Orange is the New Black, and season 4 of Arrested Development.
Netflix has also been increasing focus on children’s shows. In February, the companies announced their first ever Netflix original series for children based on the film “Turbo” that is coming out in movie theaters next month. The original series, “Turbo F.A.S.T.”, will be shown starting in December, according to Huffington Post.
Netflix plans on making original shows based on the hit children’s animated movies “Kung Fu Panda” and “Shrek”. As of now, there are no details on casting.
