Netflix Sets Release Date for ‘Russian Doll’ Season 2

Fans of the 2019 Emmy-nominated Netflix series Russian Doll rejoice! The long-awaited second season finally seems to be here, according to Purewow! The show, having been three years since its initial premiere on the streaming platform, is slated to return on April 20th.

Russian Doll stars Natasha Lyonne (Orange Is the New Black) as Nadia, a boisterous, rough-and-tumble redhead with a penchant for cigarettes and drugs. In season one, Nadia attends a party and after a tragic accident, finds herself stuck in a time loop that seems to reset whenever she dies, which happens a lot. In between her thoughts of cynic indifference and colorful quips, Nadia attempts to escape the hellish loop: one death at a time.

Also according to Variety, the cast will include returning cast members such as Charlie Barnett (Men in Black III) as Alan, while also adding new cast members to the roster for the upcoming second season. Some of these new members include Carolyn Michelle Smith (Colony), Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), and Sharlto Copley (Powers). Lyonne is also returning as the showrunner and executive producer, with season two also being produced by Amy Poehler (Paper Kite Productions) Leslye Headland, Dave Becky (3 Arts), Kate Arend (Paper Kite Productions), Regina Corrado, Alex Buono, Tony Hernandez (Jax Media), and Allison Silverman.
