According to Comicbook, Netflix has recently revealed teaser trailer for its original animated series Skull Island. They have also revealed a voice cast as well as a synopsis. The series is scheduled to premiere this summer on Thursday, June 22nd on the platform. The series is a spin-off set within the same time as the King Kong film Kong: Skull Island. The series will have animations featured by Powerhouse Animation Studio which is known for other Netflix series such as Masters of the Universe: Revelation, Blood of Zeus, Seis Manos, and the Castlevania franchise.

According to Comicbook, the voice cast for the animated series will include Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond), Mae Whitman (The Owl House), Darren Barnett (Never Have I Ever), Benjamin Bratt (Poker Face), Betty Gilpin (The Tomorrow War), and many more. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Brian Duffield (Love and Monsters) with Jacob Robinson (American Outlaws), Brad Graeber (Clerks), Jen Chambers (Youth & Consequences), and Thomas Tull (Man of Steel). Power House Animation Studio will craft the new series with a whole new take on King Kong.
According to Comicbook, Netflix teases what is to come for the series by stating, “Skull Island takes viewers on a thrilling adventure as a group of kind-hearted explorers rescues Annie (Whitman) from the ocean, unaware that their act of heroism will lead them to the treacherous Skull Island. This enigmatic place is home to bizarre creatures and terrifying monsters, including the mighty titan himself, Kong.”
Skull Island will premiere on Netflix on Thursday, June 22nd.
