Netflix Renews ‘On My Block’ for a Second Season

Netflix has decided to renew their coming of age series On My Block. The show is comedy which follows four friends each of which experiencing the ups and downs of going to a high school in a inner city. The story is set in LA South Central neighborhood. The series’ stars are: Diego Tinoco, Sierra Capri, Jason Genao, Brett Gray, Jessica Marie Garcia, and Ronni Hawk. Each of which play a street savvy character. Lauren Iungerich (Awkward) co-created the series with Eddie Gonzalez and Jeremy Haft. Each of them also serve as executive producers.

Netflix does not release viewer information, but the series does have a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The renewal for this series comes shortly after fellow high school set comedy Alexa and Katie (which is also going to be on its second season). However, Netflix did cancel one of their high school set show in Everything Sucks.This was a controversial decision which soon started the hashtag #RenewEverythingSucks.

When On My Block‘s first season came out on March 16th it did receive strong reviews.
