Netflix is at it again as the streaming platform continues to expand its plethora of genres. The new anime series, Cyberpunk Edgerunners was revealed Thursday during a live stream event for the video game that the series will revolve around according to Entertainment Weekly.
The video game revolves around free for all world adventure that takes place in a dystopia set to the future. People change their bodies using cybernetic implants via Indie Wire.
Not a lot of concrete detail has been released about the series Cyberpunk Edgerunners. The 10- episode series will work as a tie in piece to the video game but will not follow the game’s exact story line. Both the series and game take place in the same world, Night City, a megalopolis that is fixated with technical body modifications
The anime is being created through the Japanese animation studio Studio Trigger and the series will be done through anime director Hiroyuki Imaishi (Dead Leaves). Cyberpunk; Edgerunners is planning to release on Netflix in 2022.
