Netflix Releases ‘Stranger Things: Vol. 2’ Teaser

Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming second half of the fourth season of Stranger Things, according to Deadline. The first part of the series gave the streamer its biggest premiere weekend in its history with a total of 286.79 million hours viewed – surpassing Bridgerton‘s season two record of 193 million views.

During Netflix’s Geeked Week, the Duffer Brothers (Hidden) and the show’s cast discussed how the show has evolved from TV version of The Goonies to a show that largely resembles Nightmare on Elm Street.

“The kids are now not kids anymore. They are in high school,” Ross Duffer said. “Suddenly that opened up a lot of doors for us. We can put them in danger that is really scary . . . A lot of horror comes from humans in the story, the darkness in all of us. This season really is no different.”

Meanwhile, the cast members touched on their characters’ development throughout this season, and where they fit in.

“It’s definitely a goal for Dustin to feel a little more confident,” Gaten Matarazzo (Prank Encounters). “He’s put more emphasis on his look. I think its just a general confidence search, maybe motivated by his friendship with Steve [Joe Keery, Spree).”

“I understand where Lucas is and his life at the time,” Caleb McLaughlin (Concrete Cowboy) said. “He’s kind of going through this time, who am I, where do I fit in. He needed to venture out to figure out who he was before he can appreciate his love for his friends, the nerd that he is.”

Volume 1 of Stranger Things 4, which encompassed the season’s first seven episodes, was released May 27, with Volume 2 – the final two episodes – being released July 1.
