Netflix Releases Official Trailer For Will Ferrell Comedy Series ‘The Hawk’

Netflix has released the official trailer for its upcoming comedy series The Hawk. According to Deadline, the golf comedy starring Will Ferrell (Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, You’re Cordially Invited, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy) will premiere on July 16.

Starring and executive produced by Ferrell, The Hawk follows former golf champion Lonnie Hawkins, better known as “The Hawk,” as he attempts to complete one final comeback after years away from the sport. Determined to win the last major championship needed to achieve golf’s Grand Slam, Lonnie refuses to retire despite mounting doubts from those closest to him.

According to the official synopsis, Lonnie’s body may be telling him to step away from the game, but he remains convinced he’s only one swing away from reclaiming his place among golf’s greatest players. Along the way, he must contend with his ex-wife Stacy, played by Molly Shannon (Never Been Kissed, Superstar, Saturday Night Live), and his son Lance, played by Jimmy Tatro (Home Economics, The Real Bros of Simi Valley, Theater Camp), who has emerged as golf’s newest rising star.

Additional cast members include Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project, Office Christmas Party, Chelsea Lately), Luke Wilson (Old School, Bottle Rocket, No Good Deed), Chris Parnell (Rick and Morty, Hot Rod, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy), Katelyn Tarver (Big Time Rush, Ballers, Famous in Love), and David Hornsby (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Mythic Quest, Good Girls).

The series is executive produced by Ferrell alongside Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart, Dead to Me, Hustlers), Alix Taylor (The Shrink Next Door, You’re Cordially Invited, Spirited), Rian Johnson (Knives Out, Glass Onion, Looper), Ram Bergman (Knives Out, Glass Onion, Looper), Nena Rodrigue (Poker Face, 3 Body Problem, Lost & Found), Chris Henchy (Land of the Lost, The Other Guys, The Campaign), Harper Steele (Saturday Night Live, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, The Spoils of Babylon), David Gordon Green (Halloween, The Righteous Gemstones, Halloween Kills), and Andrew Guest (Community, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Wonder Man).

The Hawk premieres July 16 on Netflix, with the first two episodes debuting at its premiere followed by weekly releases through November 4.
