Netflix Releases New Trailer for ‘XO, Kitty’

Kitty Song Covey sets off on her own journey to find love in the latest trailer for XO, Kitty. The 10-episode series will debut on Netflix on May 18, via The Hollywood Reporter.

This trailer follows the release of a first-look clip from Netflix last month. Although this new trailer begins with young Kitty, played by Anna Cathcart (Descendants 2, Odd Squad) wanting to move halfway across the world to reunite with her long-distance boyfriend Dae (Minyeong Choi) (Entertainer, Mr. Sunshine) at the Korean Independent School of Seoul (KISS), she quickly realizes this next chapter is more than just about romance.

“This isn’t all about a boy,” her character says in the clip. “I’m ready to start experiencing new things. I want my own adventure.” Her desire for adventure comes after she watched her older sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor, Deadly Class) find unexpected young love with her boyfriend Peter (Noah Centineo, The Fosters)

Kitty is seen reminding herself that one of the main reasons she wanted to go to the school was because her late mother went there. She wants to feel connected to her, so she sets out to make her own memories full of laughter, tears and of course, some complicated relationships. “They say go big or go home, right?” she adds at the end of the trailer.

John Corbett (Northern Exposure, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) returns as Kitty’s father Dan Covey, as well as Sarayu Blue (Hollywood Stargirl, Never Have I Ever) reprising her role as Dan’s partner Trina. The cast also includes Gia Kim (Happy Ending), Sang Heon Lee (Gran Turismo), Anthony Keyvan (Fresh Off the Boat), Peter Thurnwald (Players), Yunjin Kim (House of the Disappeared), Michael K Lee (George Takei’s Allegiance), Jocelyn Shelfo (The Great Princess Diana Caper) and Regan Aliyah (Ironheart). Jenny Han, the author of the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before book series and executive producer for the film franchise serves as co-showrunner with Sascha Rothchild.
