Netflix Prepares for The Holiday Season with New Witchmas Trailer

With elf hats, Christmas lights, and candy cane weapons edited into the first season, Netflix’s The Witcher wishes its fans a happy “Witchmas.” A humorous play on words, Netflix is building momentum up for season two of their hit original with a little holiday cheer. This holiday message is a montage of clips from the first season with a bit of sleigh bells in the background and a few lines from the talented cast of The Witcher.

Having season two of The Witcher being setback due to issues related with COVID-19 at the beginning of the month, Netflix reinvigorates Geralt with holiday spirit. Although fans might have to wait a bit longer for the next season, there is plenty of excitement and speculation building up for next seasons cast. With Kim Bodnia (The Letter For The King, Abbot) being cast as Vesemir, Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders, Billy Kitchen) as Lambert, and Basil Endenbenz (Wildlings, Martin) as Eskel, fans can be sure that season two will be jam packed with Witchers.

Netflix has also included behind the scenes content which include a few documentaries  that delve into the details behind what it takes to make such an ambitious fantasy series come to life. The documentary titled Inside the Episodes: The Witcher tackles aspects of the shows character introductions and foreshadowing for possible future stories. Their other documentary titled Making: The Witcher, revolves around elements of the source material in Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, and what Geralt means to Polish pop culture. The documentary also includes personal anecdotes from the cast such as Allen’s first time auditioning and how Sapkowski built such strong female leads.

Netflix’s The Witcher has a lot to unpack in each season and viewers will be excited to know when a release date for season two is announced. Until then, fans will have to sate their appetite with season one, a couple documentaries, and of course the new “Witchmas” trailer.
