Netflix Adds John Brotherton As Series Regular On ‘Fuller House’

Oh, Mylanta!

Things are about to get a little more crowded on Fuller House next season.

Netflix’s return to the Tanner household earlier this year proved to be a success among fans and was, without a doubt, renewed for a second season shortly after the premiere. We caught up with nearly all the Tanner household (sans Michelle) and saw the transition from Danny Tanner’s (Bob Saget) to DJ Tanner-Fuller’s (Candace Cameron Bure) story of raising three children as a widow.

We saw old favorites and met a few new favorites last season, including: Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin), John Stamos (Uncle Jesse), Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin), and Dave Coulier (Uncle Joey) to name a few. It was announced earlier by Variety that DJ’s hot (ahem) friendly, love interest, veterinarian Matt Harmon would not only be returning to the show but he is officially returning as a series regular.

John Brotherton (One Life to Live) plays Matt Harmon in the show and works with DJ at his father’s small veterinarian clinic. Last season, we saw Dr. Harmon courting DJ and sparks flew everywhere. He’s got some big shoes to fill however as DJ’s late husband was a firefighter who died in action. Not to forget that old high school flame Steve, who is still madly in love with DJ and also trying to win her heart.

Struggling to balance her life, DJ’s sister Stephanie and best friend Kimmy Gibbler and her daughter move into the house to help with DJ’s three boys. With Brotherton returning to the show as a series regular it throws into question how this will affect this single mom’s life. Will they get a happily ever after? Or is it still too soon?

With the potential of renewed romance between the two veterinarians, and the silly situations the Tanner girls generally find themselves in, and the addition of their offspring it’s safe to say that the Gibbler-Tanner-Fuller household is going to be full of crazy antics and heartfelt, family situations.
