The supernatural drama Debris was ordered to series at NBC according to Variety. Production for the series was originally shut down only after the pilot episode was shot, due to COVID-19 guidelines. NBC announced this only week following their announcement surrounding pilots of this year and next’s developing seasons. Debris was the only pilot for NBC that was completely filmed before filming guidelines were set in place.
The series surrounds the story of two very different agents coming together to understand alien wreckage, starring Johnathan Tucker (The Virgin Suicides) as Bryan Beneventi and Brianna Steele (NCIS: New Orleans) as Finola Jones. Tucker’s character, Beneventi, is described as a headstrong CIA agent with Steele’s character Jones is a classic rule following MI6 agent. The series also stars Alisha Newton (The Wyoming Story) as Isla Vandeberg, Norbert Leo Butz (Dan in Real Life) as Craig Maddox, and Scroobius Pip (The Bastard Executioner) as Anson Ash.
J.H. Wyman (Fringe) and Jason Hoffs (Star Trek Beyond) created the series. Universal Television and Legendary Television will produce, with Wyman executive producing through Frequency Films which is currently under a deal through Legendary.
There is no word on when Debris will official air again on NBC.
