Deadline reports that Ray Santiago (Ash vs Evil Dead, Meet the Fockers), Melanie J. Newby (Doom Patrol, The Resident), and Christina Anthony (Mixed-ish, Key and Peele) have been cast as series regulars in NBC’s comedy pilot Non-Evil Twin alongside Amber Ruffin (The Amber Ruffin Show, Central Park). The series is produced by Universal Television and is written by Ruffin and Kenny Smith (Hustle, The Pathway).
Non-Evil Twin follows Ruffin’s dual characters, twins Angie and Amber. Angie is the rich, heartless CEO of AngieCorp who intimidates everyone she meets, except for her sister Amber. Anthony will play Angie’s devoted assistant, Christina, who is easily annoyed with everyone and thinks she is always the smartest in the room.
Santiago will play Tony, the VP of marketing whose well-meaning but brutally honest nature causes him to be dismissed by Angie but embraced by Amber.
Newby will play Amy, Angie’s cellmate who refuses to put Angie on the pedestal that she is used to.
Ruffin serves as showrunner and executive produces with Jenny Hagel (Positive Comment, Crafty), Seth Meyers (Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Awesomes), Jason Carden (The Amber Ruffin Show, The To Do List), Mike Shoemaker (Saturday Night Live, AP Bio), Olivia Morris (RRR, Hotel Portofino), and director Kelly Park (Station 19, Lopez vs. Lopez).
