Only a week after cancelling Manifest, NBC has cut Good Girls from their fall show schedule. According to Deadline, the series will not be shopped to other networks by NBC, making the chances of another season of the series somewhere else slim to none.
Good Girls, which starred Retta (Parks and Recreation), Christina Hendricks (The Neon Demon), and Mae Whitman (The Perks of Being a Wallflower), follows three mothers from the suburbs who decide to begin a life of crime rather than struggling to make ends meet through legal means. However, when they decide to commit their first robbery at the local grocery store, they discover the road to get rich quick isn’t as easy as they once thought, via Deadline.
According to Deadline, the series had initially planned to be a five season run, leaving only one season left. Although there were initially hopes to complete the series on NBC, they did not pan out, and even attempts to get the show to finish its run on Netflix have proved unsuccessful.
In addition to Good Girls and Manifest, NBC has also cancelled Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and Debris according to Deadline. Good Girls has been in a linear and same day streaming deal with Netflix, and although it has been a top performer on the streaming platform, NBC appears to weigh linear performance on the network over any digital performance when it comes to making season renewal decisions.
There are five remaining episodes in Good Girls‘ fourth season. NBC will air these episodes in their normal time slot, 9 pm EST, before fully pulling the show off the air.
