Nathan Fielder (Nathan For You) will write, direct, and star in an upcoming comedy entitled The Rehearsal for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comedy series takes place in a dystopian world where nothing seems to work out in one’s favor; Fielder gives people the ability to ‘rehearse’ their own lives.
Fielder was also featured in Comedy Central’s parody series Nathan For You, in which he utilized the knowledge learned from earning his business degree as well as his life experiences to help small businesses boost sales through a series of unorthodox marketing campaigns. The series’ four seasons are currently streaming on HBO Max. Fielder’s other credits include The Disaster Artist, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, Rick and Morty, and Drunk History.
It is still unclear whether The Rehearsal will serve as a scripted series or a docuseries. Christie Smith (Dead to Me) and Dan McManus (Nathan For You) will executive produce alongside Fielder. Additional castmembers or details attached to the series have not yet been announced.
