MTV Renews Ke$ha Reality Show and Announces New Miley Cyrus Project

MTV has confirmed that there will be a sophomore run for My Crazy Beautiful Life, in addition to a new series for Miley Cyrus.

The announcement came at Friday’s TCA that Ke$ha’s unscripted series will continue into a second season, explains the Hollywood Reporter. The freshman season aired earlier this year in April as a six-part reality series. Titled Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life, MTV aired the series at 11 PM. The first season was shot over the course of two years by the star’s filmmaker brother, Lagan Sebert.

Susanne Daniels, MTV’s programming president made the second season announcement at the Television Critics Association press tour. She hinted that the new season includes several enthusiastic screams and a promise of onscreen introductions to Ke$ha’s “boyfriends.”

The network will also run an hour-long special on Miley Cyrus as she preps for her new album. The project will include looking into the singer’s transformation from what Daniels described as a “Disney princess” into her role today as a fashion and pop icon.

The Cyrus piece will air in the fall and become the latest doc on MTV’s roster, joining previous projects featuring singers Drake and Demi Lovato among others.
