MTV Picks Up Two New Comedy Shows

As reported by Deadline, MTV has picked up their two comedy pilots to series of eight episodes. They will be joining Awkward on the weekly schedule.

Faking It is described as a comedy about two best friends who will do almost anything to fit in and be popular in high school. The cast includes Bailey Buntain from Bunheads and Gregg Sulkin, who has starred in Pretty Little LiarsMelissa & Joey and Wizards of Waverly Place.

Meanwhile, Happyland revolves around one of the country’s most famous theme parks – fictional, of course – and the lives of those who work there.

The two comedies confirm the path MTV has been been following for a while now, pushing into original scripted programming.
