According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBCUniversal– owned streamer Peacock has greenlighted a movie that reunites the cast and creative team from the former USA series Monk. Three-time Emmy award winner Tony Shalhoub (Galaxy Quest) will once again reprise his award-winning role as Adrian Monk, a detective, although brilliant, deals with obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Series creator Andy Breckman (Rat Race) will be writing and executive producing the film which is titled Mr.Monk’s Last Case and will be produced by Universal Studio Grouo’s UCP. Randy Zisk (Midnight Caller) will direct the film and executive producer David Hoberman (The Fighter) will also be on board in the making of the film. Many cast members will return to reprise their roles. Cast members returning include Ted Levine (Shutter Island), Traylor Howard (Me, Myself & Irene), Jason Gray-Stanford (The Boys), Melora Hardin (The Office), and Héctor Elizondo (Pretty Woman).

UCP President Beatrice Springborn (The Prestige) said, “New and returning fans of Monk will love how this creative team was able to preserve all that we admire about Adrian Monk while bringing him into the present. We can’t wait for Peacock viewers to experience this fresh, fun and imaginative film.”
The film will have Monk attempting to solve a case that includes his beloved stepdaughter who is preparing for her wedding.
Currently, all eight seasons of Monk are available on Peacock.
