Game Of Thrones has cast another big name actor for the upcoming sixth season.
Max von Sydow (The Exorcist) will be joining the sixth season of Game Of Thrones and his character has already been introduced. Von Sydow is set to play the Three-Eyed Raven. His character acts as a mystical tutor for Bran Stark. He teaches Stark about his supernatural abilities including being able to transfer himself into other living creatures, according to Variety.
This character has already made an appearance on Game Of Thrones back in season four. Struan Rodger portrayed the character then. The legendary von Sydow is taking over the part for season six. His role is reportedly important to the plot but he won’t have a lot of screen time this season.
If that sounds familiar, it’s because the same was said of Ian McShane’s mystery role that we reported on here. At least this time fans know who von Sydow will be playing. There’s no word on whether or not these characters will be important past the sixth season. Though we now know that we can expect the show to last eight seasons should it continue to be renewed by HBO.
Von Sydow’s next big part will be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Season six of Game Of Thrones is in production now and is expected to air this spring on HBO.
