Max has received a record 31 Primetime Emmy Awards at this year’s Emmy Awards. This achievement won at the 75th annual awards ceremony is significant as it is the most of any network or platform. As The Hollywood Reporter notes, HBO’s Original series dominated this year with Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus, all winning big in categories like “Outstanding Drama Series,” “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series,” and “Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.”
Succession won six awards for Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series to Kieran Culkin (Succession, Home Alone, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series to Sarah Snook (Succession, Predestination, Run Rabbit Run),
Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series to Matthew Macfadyen (Pride and Prejudice, Succession, Operation Mincemeat), Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series to Jesse Armstrong (Succession, Peep Show, Fresh Meat), and Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series to Mark Mylod (The Menu, Ali G Indahouse, Succession).
White Lotus brought home five awards including Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series to Jennifer Coolidge (We Have a Ghost, Shotgun Wedding, Single All the Way), Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling, Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score), and Outstanding Music Supervision.
In addition to these three series’ domination of the night, Last Week Tonight won Outstanding Scripted Variety Series and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series. We’re Here won Outstanding Costumes for Variety and Nonfiction or Reality Programming and Outstanding Hairstyling for a Variety, Nonfiction or Reality Program. Moonage Dream won Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program (Single or Multi-camera) and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program (Single or Multi-camera).
The rest of the winners included Barry, House of the Dragon, 100 Foot Wave, A Black Lady Sketch Comedy Show, 2022 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and Succession: Controlling the Narrative.
