Matthew Perry (Friends) unveiled the title and cover of his upcoming memoir, titled Friends, Lovers And The Big Terrible Thing, according to Deadline. It will be released on November 1, 2022.
Perry, known for his role as Chandler Bing on the iconic TV sitcom Friends from 1994 until 2004, has been open and candid about his struggles with addiction in the past. In a Twitter post announcing the publication of his book, Perry said, “So much has been written about me in the past. I thought it was time people heard from me. The highs were high, the lows were low. But I have lived to tell the tale, even though at times it looked like I wouldn’t. And it’s all in here. I apologize it’s not a pop up book.”
Most recently, Perry appeared alongside his co-stars, Jennifer Aniston (The Morning Show), Courtney Cox (Scream), Lisa Kudrow (Boss Baby), David Schwimmer (Madagascar), and Matt Leblanc (Joey) in HBO Max’s Friends: The Reunion, where the Friends cast returned to the show’s original soundstage to reminisce about the show that launched their careers.
News of this memoir was released in October 2021. In a statement, Perry’s publisher – Publisher Flatiron Books – said, “In the book, Perry takes readers behind the scenes onto the soundstage of the most successful sitcom of all time while opening up about his private struggles with addiction.”
