Marvel Studios has earned its first Emmy with its first television outing, Disney+’s WandaVision, according to Variety. The show was nominated for 23 total Emmys, the most for any limited series and the second-most for any series overall.
The series won its first two Emmys Saturday at the Creative Arts ceremony for narrative production design and fantasy costumes. Alongside these nominations, WandaVision was also nominated for limited series casting, main title design, main title theme music, and music supervision, among others. The Primetime ceremony will unveil how Marvel’s first TV show fares in the limited series category, the Lead Actress in a Limited Series category for Elizabeth Olsen (Avengers: Age of Ultron), Supporting Actress in a Limited Series for Kathryn Hahn (Mrs. Fletcher), and the Lead Actor in a Limited Series category for Paul Bettany (Legion).
Premiering in January, WandaVision followed Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff and Bettany’s Vision in the events that unfolded after Avengers: Endgame. The series was followed by The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which nabbed five Emmy nominations, Loki, and What If…?. Marvel fans will have to wait until the Primetime Emmys ceremony on September 19 to know whether the franchise will keep up its winning streak.
