Marvel has officially confirmed that Elden Henson will be back as Foggy Nelson in season two of Daredevil: Born Again, ending weeks of speculation about the fan-favorite character’s fate, according to Entertainment Weekly.
As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum (X-Men ’97, What If…?) confirmed Henson’s return during an interview at New York Comic Con. “I actually haven’t seen the quote, but I can tell you he is in season two,” Winderbaum said. “People don’t know what they’re allowed to say and what they’re not allowed to say it’s always a dance.”
Rumors about Foggy’s absence began circulating after Henson, known for The Mighty Ducks and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, told fans at LA Comic Con that his character wouldn’t be appearing in the upcoming season. That comment sparked confusion among viewers who saw Foggy die during the first season’s shocking finale.
As noted by Entertainment Weekly, the confirmation suggests that Foggy’s story may not be over just yet. Winderbaum previously hinted that both Henson and Deborah Ann Woll (True Blood, Escape Room, Ida Red) playing Karen Page would return “in different ways,” implying that Foggy could reappear through flashbacks or other narrative devices.
Season One of Daredevil: Born Again, which debuted earlier this year on Disney+, reunited Charlie Cox (Daredevil, Boardwalk Empire, Treason) as Matt Murdock, Woll’s Karen Page, and Henson’s Foggy Nelson for the first time since Netflix’s original Daredevil series. However, the reunion was short-lived, as Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie, All Rise, The Young and the Restless)’s Bullseye murdered Foggy, pushing Matt to the brink of vengeance.
In a previous interview cited by Entertainment Weekly, Winderbaum said Foggy’s death was a difficult creative choice. “The death of Foggy was something we really agonized over,” he explained. “He represents something essential to Matt’s world, so his loss carries a huge emotional weight.”
Production for season two wrapped earlier this summer, and the new episodes are expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 2026. The series has already been renewed for a third season, ensuring more stories set in the gritty Hell’s Kitchen universe.
