‘Mare Of Easttown’ Creator Brad Ingelsby Signs HBO Deal

Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby (American Woman) has signed an overall deal with HBO, according to The Hollywood ReporterFollowing the breakout success of Mare of Easttown, with the first-night audience of three million viewers across all platforms, Ingelsby has signed a three-year deal.

The series, starring Kate Winslet (Titanic), follows a police investigator in a Pennsylvania small town who attempts to solve a mysterious murder while trying to keep her own life from falling apart. The network noted that the show’s finale was the most-watched episode of an original series on HBO Max in its first 24 hours of release. While the show’s immense success has resulted in talks of a second season, Ingelsby has said that nothing is certain, “If there was a world in which we were convinced there is a continuation of the story that honors the first chapter and does things an audience would appreciate, then maybe. But as of right now, I have no idea what that could be,” via The Hollywood Reporter

Mare of Easttown served as Ingelsby’s first TV series, only having experience in film. His film credits include The Way BackAmerican Woman, and Run All Night.
