Lyndsy Fonseca and Carra Patterson To Star In Disney+’s ‘Turner & Hooch’ Reboot

The female leads of Disney+’s reboot of buddy cop comedy Turner & Hooch have been announced, with Lyndsy Fonseca and Carra Patterson set to star alongside Josh Peck, according to Deadline. The series, based off of the 1989 film of the same name, will feature Peck as U.S. Marshal Scott Turner, the role made famous by Tom Hanks. Disney+, working alongside 20th Century Fox TV, has ordered twelve episodes of the series from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix.

Fonseca and Patterson will star as Laura, Turner’s sister, and Jessica, Turner’s partner, respectively. Laura Turner, mother to seven-year-old Matthew, aids Turner in dealing with the death of their father, which in turn leads him to a huge, slobbery dog named Hooch. Close to both her mother and brother, Laura and the rest of the family learn the Turner patriarch’s death may not have been accidental. Fonseca is perhaps best known for her role as Ted Mosby’s future daughter on How I Met Your Mother, in addition to playing supporting roles in Nikita and Marvel’s Agent Carter.

Patterson will play Turner’s partner, Jessica, who contrasts his thorough way of thinking with her own uniquely brave approach. She shows no hesitance to Turner’s willingness to bring Hooch on the job. This role follow’s Patterson’s lead on Fox/WBTV’s comedy pilot Patty’s Auto last season, as well as roles in The Arrangement and the 2015 film Straight Outta Compton.

The series’ creation was announced back in December, with the news of Peck’s casting arriving earlier this month. Peck is best known for his role in Nickelodeon’s hit 2000s series Drake and Josh, in addition to adult roles in Grandfathered and his lifestyle YouTube channel. His lead as Turner in the new series will mark his return to television.

Nix will serve as head writer/executive producer and will be joined by Josh Levy (Bones) as co-executive producer.

No other announcements have been made from Disney+ or 20th Century Fox TV regarding when the show will begin filming or its premiere date.
