Lucas Grabeel Returns to ‘High School Musical’ in Upcoming Disney+ Series Episode

Actor Lucas Grabeel who is famous in playing Ryan Evans, Sharpay’s twin brother, in all the original High School Musical films is reportingly making his television appearance on the Disney+ reboot of the High School Musical series in an upcoming episode. According to ET, Grabeel is expected to appear in an episode that is expected to be released on Friday, December 27th titled “The Tech Rehearsal”. In the episode, his character will be a version of himself where he is supposedly to have a sing and dance dream sequence with the school’s theatre director, Kate Reinders’s character, Miss Jenn.

Grabeel was interested in the series when he got the call from the shows Executive Producers, Bill Borden and Tim Federle. According to POPSUGAR Entertainment, Grabeel shared that over the years he was “incredibly grateful” to be part of people’s lives by inspiring them through the memorable films. He says it eloquently in a recent interview with ET “Once I heard from Tim, passionately describing how he wanted to maintain the integrity of the original movies and music and dancing and spirit and also bring it to the new generation, I became so excited and jumped at the opportunity to be a part of it.”

Grabeel also expressed nothing but love and some nostalgia when it came time to film the show. Although, he was not able to work at the school from the original films took place, purposefully where the series also films. He says that he loved getting to work with new faces and that the feeling working on the new set felt “new but familiar. They were just so full of passion and drive and excitement,” (POPSUGAR) and missed being back into the swing of things singing and dancing.
