Long-Running CBS Daytime Drama ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Renewed for Seasons 34 and 35

CBS renewed The Bold and the Beautiful, long-running soap opera for two more seasons on May 20. The production of Seasons 34 and 35 will begin in 2021, according to Hollywood Reporter.

The daytime drama follows the Forrester family and their fashion house business called Forrester Creations. With 30-minute episodes, The Bold and the Beautiful, co-written by husband-wife duo William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell who write the sister soap The Young and the Restless, attracts an average 3.2 million views daily, via Hollywood Reporter.

Eric Forrester, the head of Forrester Creations who is played by John McCook (The Invincible Iron Man) and Brooke Logan, the Forrester son’s love interest, played by Katherine Kelly Lang (Jocks), are the two Bold and the Beautiful actors to retain original casting from the 1987 premiere.

Susan Flannery (The Towering Inferno) as wife Stephanie Forrester and Ronn Moss (The Bay) as son Ridge Forrester were on B&B for 25 years. Although Flannery’s character is no longer on the show, Ridge will return to the show’s new seasons played by Thorsten Kaye (All My Children).

In a statement from Amy Reisenbach, executive VP to current programs at CBS, she said, “”For over three decades, The Bold and the Beautiful has been a cornerstone of the CBS Daytime lineup. The show has been a creative and ratings success due to the supremely talented cast, writers and producers that Brad Bell has assembled. Of course, none of this would have been possible without B&B’s dedicated fans, whose passion for these characters and stories is unsurpassed,” via Hollywood Reporter.
