Leah Remini, who made headlines for leaving the Church of Scientology, will guest star on the upcoming premiere of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The former King of Queens star’s appearance on Ellen will mark the actress’s first television appearance since publicly leaving the Church of Scientology. According to a press release issued Friday, her interview will consist of Remini and Ellen doling out “Ellen’s biggest giveaway that will impact a community in need.”
In addition to Remini’s appearance, Ellen’s season 11 premiere week will include an interview and performance from Celine Dion, X Factor panelists Simon Cowell and Kelly Rowland, Parenthood’s Ray Romano, Glee’s Amber Riley, Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Andy Samberg, America’s Got Talent’s Mel B. and a performance from Jennifer Nettles. WWE Wrestler Fred Rosser, aka “Darren Young” will also appear on the show.
Since her split from the Church of Scientology in July, Remini has been planning a tell-all memoir and has been tapped to join the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars.
