Julia Louis-Dreyfus Teases ‘Veep’ Season 7 with Table Read Photo

Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays President Selena Meyers, has shared a picture of the cast and crew back together for a table read for season seven of the Emmy-award winning show, Veep. Back in July at the Television Critics Association, HBO president of programming Casey Bloys said, “Writers are now getting together, with shooting scheduled to begin this fall, and the final Season 7 airing sometime this spring.”

Louis-Dreyfus was diagnosed with breast cancer last September. Whilst she was in treatment, Louis-Dreyfus posted a picture of herself after surgery which said that she was “ready to rock after surgery,” in a tweet accompanied by a post-treatment glamour shot and a, “Hey cancer, ‘F— you!’”

Matt Walsh commented on this in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, “We’ll start filming in August and it will air in 2019,” he said. “We’ve known for about a month. We’ve seen [Julia], she’s done some table reads, she’s doing well, she’s finished her last chemo, she’s in recuperation. Her perspectives have remained excellent throughout. She’s very well loved; she’s a tremendous person.”

In Season 7, Veep will also star Tony Hale as Gary Walsh, Anna Chlumsky as Amy Brookheimer, Matt Walsh as Mike McLintock, Reid Scott as Dan Egan, Timothy Simons as Jonah Hill, Kevin Dunn as Ben Cafferty, Gary Cole as Kent Davidson and Sam Richardson as Richard Splett.

“Guys, we just learned how to take a picture of ourselves on my phone!,” Louis-Dreyfus wrote on her Instagram account. “How cool is this? @veephbo Table read episodes 2 & 3 Season 7, baby!”

The seventh and final season of Veep will premiere in Spring 2019.
