Josh Holloway to Star in J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan-Led ‘Duster’ for HBO Max

Josh Holloway (Lost) is set to reunite with J.J. Abrams, who co-created Lost, on HBO Max’s Duster, according to Variety. Abrams and LaToya Morgan (Shameless, Parenthood) are co-writing the new series.

Duster, first announced in 2020, is “a drama revolving around a 1970s getaway driver.” Holloway is set to star as the driver.

In addition to his work on Lost, Holloway joined Paramount+’s Yellowstone as Roarke in season 3, and in 2011, he played Hanaway in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Warner Bros. Television is set to produce Duster. Under his Bad Robot Productions label, Abrams will executive produce alongside Ben Stephenson (Westworld) and Rachel Rusch Rich (Castle Rock). Morgan is also set to executive produce on the series.

Morgan has writing credits for The Walking Dead, and she also served as co-executive producer and writer on Into the Badlands and TURN: Washington’s Spies for AMC.

Duster is one of many projects that HBO Max announced in 2020 would be coming through a partnership with Bad Robot Productions. Those other projects include a Justice League Dark series and a series, titled The Overlook, which is based on The Shining.
