Jon Stewart Returns To The ‘Daily Show’ With Smashing Viewership Counts

It is no shock to any comedy fan that the return of Jon Stewart to The Daily Show has brought in some massive ratings to Comedy Central. According to Deadline, the comedian brought a record-breaking amount of viewers to tune in on Monday night when he began his gig. Not only did it bring in a ton of viewers, but it also brought in high ratings and reviews across the board.

According to Deadline, Stewart’s return to the talk show brought in a smashing 930,000 viewers to Comedy Central on Monday night. This number was only rivaled by another episode in 2018, but it blew it out of the water, making it the most-viewed episode since 2018. The premier also beat Trevor Noah’s final episode viewer count by 110% as he said goodbye to around 443,000 viewers.

Along with the views on the mother network, Stewart’s latest episode was also broadcast on several other networks. According to Deadline, it was broadcast on CMT, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Paramount Network, Pop and TV Land. All of these networks combined added another 920,000 viewers to the count making Stewart’s return hold a grand total of over 1.85 million watchers. The premiere of Stewart’s hosting gig also brought in some of the highest ratings that The Daily Show has had since 2015 with a 4.21 rating.

Stewart has returned to the Daily Show after about 9 years since he last departed. The beloved comedian will be hosting on Monday nights from now through the 2024 presidential election. As someone who is known for political commentary and conversation, he recently stated that he is looking forward to getting back to the show as he has “very much wanted to have some place to unload thoughts as we get into this election season.”
