Jimmy Kimmel Live! Renewed For Three More Years

Jimmy Kimmel Live has been renewed for three more years. Kimmel has signed a three-year deal with ABC, and will remain the show’s host and executive producer. Jimmy Kimmel Live has been on the air for two decades. In an interview with Variety earlier this summer, he acknowledged he had been thinking about retiring from the show.

“I have moments where I go, ‘I cannot do this anymore.’ And I have moments where I go, ‘What am I gonna do with my life if I’m not doing this anymore?’ Kimmel said via Variety

ABC was intent on keeping Kimmel’s show as it had top ratings and also received an Emmy nomination for Variety Talk Series. Kimmel has won two Emmy’s for his late-night show since 2012.

“I am now looking forward to three years of what they call ‘quiet quitting,’” Kimmel joked with Variety. His contract had been set to expire in 2023.

“For 20 years, Jimmy Kimmel has been a huge part of the ABC family and the heartbeat of late-night television,” said Craig Erwich president, ABC Entertainment, Hulu & Disney Branded Television Streaming Originals, told Variety. “Not only has he entertained our audiences night after night with his sharp comedy, dynamic interviews and irreverent humor, but he has gotten us through some of the most momentous events in our history with optimism and heart. There is no one funnier and more authentic than Jimmy. We are so proud of the incredibly talented team at Jimmy Kimmel Live! and could not be happier to continue our partnership.”

According to Variety, Jimmy Kimmel Live airs Monday-Friday from Los Angeles. Kimmel himself, David Craig (Mad About You), Jennifer Sharron (Cousin Sal’s Sure Thing), Molly McNearney (Murder Mystery), Erin Irwin (Donny & Marie), are executive producers on Kimmel’s late-night show; The co-executive producer of the show is Douglas DeLuca (Men Lie). Jimmy Kimmel Live! is produced by 1205 AM Productions LLC in association with Kimmelot and ABC Signature.
