Jenny Slate to Star in New FX Comedy Pilot

It has been confirmed that Obvious Child‘s Jenny Slate will be starring in a new FX comedy pilot alongside Ari Graynor.

The new comedy is co-created by Obvious Child writer Elisabeth Holm and director Gillian Robespierre. It has been confirmed that Slate will return to the Obvious Child team for this pilot.

Starring opposite of Slate will be Bad Teacher‘s Ari Graynor. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project centers around two native New Yorkers and creative partners, Lou and Viv. They meet in their 30s, make a movie together and drive cross country in search of their next project.

The pilot hails from FX Productions and will begin production in New York on Tuesday.

Slate, Robespierre and Holm worked together on Obvious Child, which won a number of achievements for them. This will mark their first project together since then.

Graynor’s credits include CBS’ short-lived Bad Teacher, Fringe and The Sopranos. Slate’s other credits include Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation, and House of Lies.

Robespierre and Holm are both represented by UTA. Slate is represented by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, and Josh Sandler at Gray Krauss. Graynor is represented by UTA, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Lichter, Grossman.
