Jennifer Esposito to Join Amazon’s Superhero Series ‘The Boys’

Jennifer Esposito will be joining Amazon’s The Boys, which is a straight to series superhero drama. She will play as CIA agent Susan Raynor, and is set to play in five episodes in the upcoming series. In the comics, Raynor is in a paradoxical situation. She hates the superhero group “the Boys,” yet at the same time she is in a sexual relationship with Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) the group’s leader.

The world that The Boys is set in is a place where the superheroes lean more towards the darker side of their enormous celebrity status. The group of heroes that the series focuses on are “the Boys,” and their goal is to take down superheroes that became corrupted. The series will be based on the comic book by both Garth Ennis (Preacher), as well as, Darick Robertson. Supernatural creator and Timeless co-creator, Eric Kripke, will be the showrunner for the upcoming series.

Esposito will be joining: Elisabeth Shue (Madelyn Sitwell), Erin Moriarty (Starlight, which is a superhero in “The Seven” group), Antony Starr (Homelander), Dominique McElligott (Queen Maeve), Jesse User (A-Train), Chase Crawford (The Deep), Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), Urban (Billy Butcher), and Karen Fukuhara (Female).

Esposito’s credits include her series regular role Alex Quinn in CBS’ NCIS. She was also in CBS’ Blue Bloods and starred in ABC’s Mistresses. Most recently Esposito just finished co-starring along with John Travolta in the movie Speed Kills.
