Jennifer Coolidge Will Return To ‘The White Lotus’ For Season 2

HBO announced on Monday that Jennifer Coolidge (American Pie) will return to their comedy-drama series, The White Lotus, for their second season, according to Variety. The network also announced that production has begun for season two in Sicily, Italy, Variety reports.

Variety reported in October that Coolidge would be returning to the show, but HBO had declined comment at the time up until now.

According to Variety, Coolidge will be the only regular cast member from season one who will be returning. Cast members being added for season two of The White Lotus include F. Murray Abraham (Scarface), Adam DiMarco (The Order), Meghann Fahy (The Bold Type), Tom Hollander (Pride & Prejudice), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos), Theo James (Divergent), Aubrey Plaza (Parks & Recreation), Haley Lu Richardson (The Edge of Seventeen), Will Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Louis Wain) and Leo Woodall (Cherry).

Coolidge’s role as Tanya McQuoid has earned her multiple award nominations this year, including Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series at the Screen Actor Guild Awards, Outstanding Performance in a New Series at the Gotham Awards, Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role on Television at the Golden Globe Awards, and Best Actress in a Series at the AACTA International Awards.

Murray Bartlett (Tales of the City), who will not be returning for season two, also received many nominations and a win for his role as Armond. His nominations included Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series at the SAG Awards and Best Male Performance in a New Scripted Series at the Film Independent Spirit Awards. He won Best Actor in a Series at the AACTA International Awards for the role.

The show has already racked up tons of awards and nominations on top of Coolidge’s nominations. The White Lotus won Best Comedy at the AACTA International Awards and TV Program of the Year at the AFI Awards.

The White Lotus is written and directed by Mike White (School of Rock). White is also an executive producer along with David Bernad (The D Train) and Mark Kamine (Bad Moms).
